Yes. They also have a campus wide wireless network for students.

HAC was giving MacBooks away in past years. Don't  know about this year.

Students supposedly leased them. Then they would leave the college take the computer and not pay the lease.

College was out hundreds of thousands of dollars on the deal.

how are they censuring all media now? Unbelievable!!!! are they requiring that you turn in flash drives of mp3 files for approval of music now?

I always wondered how they would police the internet. Especially in light of the fact that they always had you turn in your music to be approved. Like that worked either.

Most students I see at church have smart phones.

Do you mean censor or censure?

Censor:  an official who examines materials for morality.
Cencure : a judgment involving condemnation.

Censure?

Guess one would cencure in a hell fire and damnation sermon.

Yes they probably are subject to that.

Censor?

How can you monitor what people do on their smart phones in private?

How do you control what people think?

Technology changes things.

I think that "laptops" have been going on there way before the personal computer...

Yes, all flash drives, smartphones and mp3 players will receive a small sticker from the administration indicating that its contents have been approved - just like the cassettes.......  ::)

Yes, I helped install the wireless access points in a couple of the womens dorms. They do have a firewall and filter setup to not let certain sites though and also proxy blocking.

... but once they get past the sacred walls, 3G and 4G can and will take them wherever they want to go right???? If Jim Jorgesen were there, I bet he would be having serious ulcers over that possibility.

Of course HAC no longer has the option of that kind of control. Hard for IFBx types to accept.

Sure they do.

Most of these colleges now have students sign a waiver giving the administration the right to seize and search any electronic device at any time.  Of course, the student's denial of the search is grounds for immediate expulsion.  It falls under the "any thing at our discretion" clause in the handbooks.
