This morning at church, one of our regulars came in decked out in "pride" rainbow. The man is clearly a straight conservative. He saw me eyeing the shirt and pin he was wearing. That's when he announced he's taking the rainbow back.

OK...

It does take me back to the time when the rainbow colors in church didn't denote perverted theology.

But... What about the visitor walking in who isn't aware of his true intent?

i have dealt with this issue many times over the years... ... both in previous posts on more than one version of the fff.... and also in person with many of my friends here at home... ..the rainbow belongs to us... .. it belongs to christians.... . it;s the symbol of Gods covenant with noah..... ....are we to stop using it and begin shunning it just because perverts and other apostates picked it up and started using it?......

what if the lgbtq group begins carrying bibles?... or wearing crosses as symbols/signals to other gays of who they are?..... . what if they begin publicly baptizing fellow gays into their society - who have recently come out of the closet - in a blasphemous immitation of the same way we baptize new converts to Christ?..... .. are we to stop baptizing or stop carrying the bible in fear an uneducated vistitor might come to church and see it?............ ....

it;s not unimmagineble that the lgtbq-alphabet and whatever group could start doing that very thing... .. who would have ever thought a century ago they would claim the rainbow?.... and even more strange - who would have thought back then that christians would be silent and let them take it?.... ....

i have been saying for years christians should take back not only the rainbow but all other christians symbols - and also christian holidays that belong to us but which pagans and other segments of secularism have stolen from us... those other alterations of holidays and symbols have become viewed as normal and even valid now.... ...... ..but the "gay" community has already proven they are not satisfied with simply being accepted as normal or valid... .... what they really want is to make the entire world exactly like they are ... .... .and like their master the devil - who walks about the earth like a roaring lion - they won;t stop until they have done it.... .

I would say he shouldn't display it in the same format as they do. It should be clearly Christian.

when i saw one of the legend of zelda video games had a sky city in it i thought maybe it had
rainbows around it.. .... but no... ...just high winds and a bunch of flying creatures trying to
knock you off..... plus weird little bird people with human faces..... .......but it did have
cool theme music to it.... ..

Co-opting the specific symbols of the gay-rights movement is going to be misconstrued as support for the movement, without context.

Don't use the six-colour pride flag, and don't wear or accessorize with rainbow-themed articles. In theory the rainbow could be "taken back," but it would have to be done using specifically Christian symbols that are distinct from the gay-rights ones, however that is managed, if it's even possible.

Yup. The guy had changed his shirt at some point during the morning. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened after a chat with the pastor.
