I thought it was impossible for me to be shocked...guess not. :(

I saw an article about that a couple of days ago. All I could think of was, "wow; that is really messed up."  :(

Yeah, totally messed up. You got to have a particular sex offender preacher so bad that you'll bar kids from the services, so he can preach without violating his probation? That's insane!  :o

Gilyard is a scumbag and should never be allowed in another pulpit anywhere. He talks the good talk, just has no idea how to walk it. Probably one of the churches best con man of all time. Disgusting.

It really shows a lack of discernment of those sitting in the pews of this church.  All of the sister churches should break fellowship with this congregation until Gilyard is dismissed.

Bolded part might just be the understatement of the decade.

This story made the Huffington Post on the 21st. I first saw this story when it was posted and discussed on a secular internet board that I read. Lord help us (and I do not use that phrase in any light or flippant manner). This brings shame to the name of Christ. It's not snide-remark worthy; it's grief-worthy.

Why is anyone shocked...I hear there is a church in Florida that has no problem with a man who had sex with the church librarian working with teens...incredible stuff!

Is it just me or does it seem like sexual stuff is the downfall of a lot of preachers. :o :-\

Seriously, woe.

Isaiah 5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Pragmatism on display....he needed us and we needed him.
I assume this is a predominately African-American congregation.
They have always been more forgiving and quick to restore the fallen....to a fault.

Yeah...anyone hear of the name "Bishop Eddie Long"?  Homosexual relations with young men, some teens in his church and now the have him setting in a chair and anointing him king...crazy stuff!

Also the mess at Destiny Christian Center in Florida....
