I have felt this way for quite some time except my life is so bound in with this church and the people.
Just not sure what to do.
I feel like going back to secular work for a while, maybe permanently.
Would appreciate you, my forum friends praying with me.
You know I've been dealing with this for a while.
I simply must get it settled.
Thanks.

Are you a pastor praying about moving away from your church, or........?

16KJV11. ....I totally understand what you are dealing with my prayers are with you. God be with you and your family

Yes

I pray you find peace in whatever decision you make. There is no shame in deciding to still be a man of God, but not make your living by doing so.

Wonderfully said.  The Christian layman is the one whose tithes and offerings support the financial portion of the church.

There is no such thing as a "Christian layman" in God's church.

I think I agree with you, but what do you mean by "There is no such thing".

16KJV11:
Will be praying for Gods direction regarding this decision.

Is the church struggling as well, or is this a personal battle, if I may ask?  Are there specific needs you would ask us to pray for?

There is no "clergy" class, or "laity" class in God's church, and God hates the deeds of those who dreamed it up.

Rev 2:6
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Nikkos- conquer
Laity-people

God hates the separating of "laymen" from "full time" servants.
We are all full time, all ministers, all to walk worthy, all to excercise our gifts, all to preach the gospel.

Well said.

All Christian men are men of God and all Christian women are women of God.

The MOG is simply an IFB creation out of thin air. Totally unsupported by NT scripture.

I believe Scripture clearly teaches that there are roles that function as the leadership of the church. That does not mean that the other roles are any less vital or deserving of honor than these leadership roles.

Is the church struggling as well, or is this a personal battle, if I may ask?  Are there specific needs you would ask us to pray for?
I guess the main crux of my own prayers are as Paul prayed for the saints at Colosse:
Colossians 1:9 (KJV)
9  For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

I'll be honest, I have prayed for specific things that have not come to pass, so I have kind of given up asking for them after 8 years.
Maybe I'm not asking for the right things, so I need to know God's will and I need wisdom and spiritual understanding.

The beatings will continue until morale improves!    :)

On a serious note, may God guide your decision.  I have been there, done that.
