My newsfeed is full of reports from Christian friends who have gone to NC to help. Not a single report of being turned away or arrested. Samaritans Purse has a large amount of relief work and workers on the ground there.

I’m sure that there is more to the story than the gotcha reports making this political. Remember how Bush was blasted for playing the guitar after Katrina? Same play different team.
 
Fema is doing 0... Its the local people being heroes and saving people and animals. If the election is loss so be it I want to live free......... The National Guard was told to stand down ........

This is true. Our friends in the affected areas in Western North Carolina, E. Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina all say that FEMA is acting in a minimal capacity or not at all. I'm not falling for the MSM and White House line that everything that can be done is being done. Too many reports are coming out showing the government and MSM are lying.
 
It does seem the response has been weak but the part about the disaster relief fund being used for other purposes is wrong. The only way that could happen would be if congress specifically permits the transfer via legislation. Anyone who violates the purpose congress assigns to the money would have an uncomfortable conversation in front of Congress as well as criminal prosecution. It's not unusual for a major disaster to cause FEMA to have to go ask for more money. Look at how many supplementals were done during Katrina and Harvey.
