Let's watch the pansies get their undies in a bundle over this title! :D It will be real fun to watch the illiterates post on this topic, based off the title alone. Let's see who really can read!

While many are focused heavily on the childrens' programs to get a "foot into the family door," let's discuss how to reach adults, directly. Specifically, how can you use the WWW to reach them?

Meetup.com: Meetup groups often struggle to find needed meeting space. Either offer space to an existing group or start a meetup group. The idea is to get those meetup groups into your church building and provide a casual, free setting where members of your church are encouraged to be a part.

Blogging: I have a client who started a ministry blog. He is a Lutheran minister. We optimized his blog to gain a following. He now hosts open, forum discussions, using a local college to discuss the hot issues.

... here are just two ideas. Now I will sit back and watch the 30 somethings, still living in their parents' basement, squeal over the title. :D

I didn't think the World Wildlife Fund really worked with local churches that often.

...oh! You meant World Wide Wrestling...they are the WWE now....the World Wildlife Fund wasn't happy with the wrestlers going by WWW.

You might try being more civil in your OP if you really want a discussion.  Inferring that people that have a problem with your premise are pansies, and that they live in their parent's basement isn't conducive to dialogue.  I don't get you sometimes, FSSL.  You got upset at those who kept pushing the chidren's angle in your last OP, yet you couldn't drop it in this OP and had to get a dig in, thus leaving the door open for others to pursue it once again.  I will not go there, but I should.

The meetup thing has possibilities if church sponsored, I would think.  Not sure how the blog would translate to growing the church, even if you could get the readers to meet.  I guess anything is possible.

You either are looking for an argument or you're inadequate with words and expressing yourself!
Maybe both.... :)

Ahhh!!! Someone who only reads titles and assumes the OP. Caught ya!

Thank you for reading the whole OP.

Yeah.....you have a confrontational way of presenting your OPs....here and in the building a church on children OP.
If you want serious discussion, maybe you should consider changing the 'tone' of your posts....just saying!

Why? You don't read the OPs, anyways. You are simply reacting off the titles which are designed to bait readers to the thread. At times, I will use titles like this to find out who really reads. You obviously did not. I even predicted it.

Do you have any ideas as to how to get to the adult demographic using the WWW?

Yes, I read both OPs I commented on....not merely the thread titles...and maybe you should change the tone of your posts if you want serious discussion. Which I offered on the children's ministry thread.

So, when I predicted that some would get tweaked by the title, you pretended to fall for it? I was not born yesterday.

The problem with the last thread on the subject of children's ministry is, no matter how carefully I put the subject, people, including yourself, reacted without reading the question posed in the OP. It took more than 60 posts into the thread for you to even answer the question.

Do you have anything to contribute to this thread?

I've already contributed....and I see a few others offered you the same, valuable advice.
What are you going to do with it?

I am going to realize that your failure to read the OP is no fault of my own.

I further realize that the "out-of-the-box," 2012, relevant thinking is too difficult for some to contribute.

I also realize that whether I present a topic with a tempered clarity (kids thread) or by setting up a trap to see who will really read the OP (this thread), many are not willing to have their own ministry models challenged.

Why did you take the adversarial approach and use personal insults in the wording of the OP, IF you really want information?

Now, I'll readily admit that you think you're way ahead of us in out of the box thinking and cutting edge ministry.....shoot, we're still trying to open a pack of kool aid to serve at VBS..... 8)

Well, yeah. There's gotta be something to put the cyanide in.  ;)

I wanted to let people prove to the rest of us who were reading only the titles and not the entire OP posts. I am sorry that you have identified yourself as a "pansy" and "illiterate."  :P Don't take it too seriously, you can redeem yourself. I expected someone else to take the bait.

Okay. Well, I thought you were going to redeem yourself. :D

BTW: On the back of the package of kool-aid, it says "Add one gallon of water." You do realize you will not be able to get a gallon of water in that package.

Does your church use the WWW for intentional ministry growth? How?

Uh, no.  The tree huggers were not wild about their initials being tarred by a bunch of sweaty men and scantily clad women wrestling for a group called the World Wrestling Federation (or WWF).  They sued to get Vince McMahon and Co. to change their logo.  Hence, the result was World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE.
