How many chess players (serious or semi-serious) chess players?

I play frequently at chess.com

Anyone else?

Chess pie is delicious.



I also play the game from time to time.
 
I have been a serious chess player, club, tournament and coffee house, with an Expert rating. And I had a Master rating on GameKnot.com, which was not real-time, more like correspondence chess, with a 3 days per move time limit. I don't have much opportunity to play anymore, but I do love a game occasionally.

I was an amateur player in my 20s.  My first and only game against a master was a stalemate.  But that's most likely because he was gracious and let me take an extraordinarily long time to consider my moves.  (We played the game on ham radio.)

I haven't played since.

Cool! I've played against GM Yasser Seirawan, who was US Champion several times and played in the World Championship Candidates Matches. I lost miserably of course. I was never remotely close to being in his league. But he's a very nice guy and a real cutie.  :-*
