Here's the news story: http://kfor.com/2012/04/20/del-city-police-officer-charged-with-manslaughter/
If a criminal is in the act of running, it confuses me as to the logic of trying to use a taser. I'm very unfamiliar with them apart from seeing them used on occasion on a news story or occasionally on a police show, but the person is always within a very short distance when the taser is used...no more than a few feet or at least no longer than a car length away.
So how far do those things really go? I'm having visuals of sci-fi type capabilities where they seek out their target, wrap around corners, and reach up to a few city city blocks.
(btw no looking for discussion on the shooting/guilt/innocence or whatever, I wanna know about these TASERS!)
