Years ago, when I first started practicing law, there was an old boy over at the county seat that would do someting every December to get arrested. Old Judge Sutton would give him 90 days with no fines or court costs. He just wanted a warm place to spend the winter and everybody knew it. When the old boy died the judge, sheriff and four deputies served as pall bearers. The whole court staff, county bar and sheriff's dept came to the funeral. Since he had fought in WWII seven deputies gave him a 21 gun salute and a trumpeter from the HS band palyed taps. Since he had no family the flag was presented to Judge Sutton.
