The 'He gets us' ads are no where near the Gospel.
Very interesting. I did a little bit of a Google search on her and every bit of her BIO, no matter what digital platform it was listed on, had a lot of language about conservative political ideology, and was scant on religious doctrine. It appears that she knows the conservative and fundamental Evangelical Christian dogma, but uses it only as a tool to advance her ambitious political strategy. It's not surprising why people see folk like that as white nationalists, which would be really ironic in her case, LOL. Maybe more like Uncle Tom? Christian nationalist.Author's background... Emphasis mine.
When I first heard the Depeche Mode song Personal Jesus. I also immediately knew that it was going to be one of those he gets us commercials. I thought "what the heck?", because I am an '80s kid and I listened to some of that edgier stuff in those pre-christian Days, and immediately realized that's not an anthem for Christianity, quite the opposite. I guess it's their way of trying to bait the hook, kind of like the seeker friendly church's use of fog machines and lasers in the modern hipster mega churches.
Conservative ideology/talking points have been wildly popular since Rush Limbaugh first popularized them during the Reagan Era. These ideologies are very alluring since they tend to be logical and make moral sense. As such, they are often taken hook line and sinker by theological conservatives regardless of who is spouting them. A prime example of this is Ted Nugent's activism with the Second Amendment. I have heard believers speak well of him simply because we see eye to eye on this single issue. I have personally seen him on stage and he is nothing but a base animal. Add to that, he's been bragging for some time about bedding down underage girls.Very interesting.
