Well, Sochi might be a blast to some, but I just got back inside from a day of tubing here "up the holler".  Nothin' like whippin' the boy around the back end of the four-wheeler and watchin' him squeal with absolute delight!  Maybe I'll post some pics if I can figure out how to do that. :D  We've had snow on the ground here now for so long that I don't hardly remember what the ground looks like.  I don't mind the snow, but the ice is ridiculous, and the temperature dippin' down into the single digits or sub-freezing makes me want to move down to the Sunshine state of Kaba and Sherry, at least til May. :D


Anybody here love winter sports?
 
I sometimes miss seeing snow, or being in a good snow storm. But then I walk outside in flip flops and sleeveless shirts and get back to reality! :) Love our weather. Glad you had a good time with your son. I am planning a short trip to Kansas City the end of November-hoping it might snow then!

I've been in the region since 1969, and the only thing that comes close (and beats it) is 1977.  There have been isolated incidents that have been worse, like the 2 foot of snow followed by actual temps of -33 below zero in 1994.  And some ice storms have been more catastrophic, as your area surely knows within recent years, but taken as a whole, it has been brutal, and I'm ready for Spring.
 
The rest of the week looks to be in the high 70's and low 80's :)

My brother in-law called from Charlotte today and it was snowing... I was standing outside in the Sunshine with a warm breeze ...I told him he knew the way south...
 
I am headed to FL in a couple of weeks and I can't imagine wearing short sleeves.  Of course, I find myself leaving my coat in the car when it is above 20 degrees.

Alayman, I do feel sorry for the bad weather everyone else is getting. Been there though and done that so now I am enjoying living in vacation land (while working!) I havent been to the beach in months...too busy.  :) Stay warm and safe!
 
Arent you too young to have grandchildren! If you come further south anytime, would love to meet up!

We have 5 kids ages 33-16 so there are grand kids and there will be more.  ;)

Would love to head down south to see family and meet you.
 
Spent half the day on Saturday sitting beside your family! LAX season has started! Your family member takes awesome pics, and even though we are on opposite teams she always is generous with the pics of my son!! If you are anything like them...you are a wonderful person!!
 
We finally got some more snow over the weekend!  It had been over a week!  And it was -5 when I awoke.

We got 6" or so last night.  And then it almost got to 30 above today!

I have to admit, I married into a great group of people!  I love seeing her pics on FB.
