Not much of an apology. He spends the first half of it boasting about how much his end-of-the-world fraud got people talking about the Bible.

It did do that, at the expense of any credibility he may have had left. At least he says they won't be setting any more dates.

Yeah, I thought that part was pretty bogus too.

I just realized I probably mis-titled this thread. I probably should have called it "Harold Camping Admits He Sinned (but Qualifies It)."

"God has humbled us through the events of May 21, to continue to even more fervently search the Scriptures (the Bible), not to find dates, but to be more faithful in our understanding."

I cannot roll my eyes high enough.

I'll be more inclined to believe Weird Harold is truly repentant when he says he was wrong about the end of the church age and starts encouraging his listeners to go back to their churches.

I remember back in May of last year, reading about all kinds of people who had quit their jobs, squandered their life savings, given up all their homes and all their possessions... based totally on Camping and his word. On one hand, I feel bad that they were deceived, but on the other hand...? I mean seriously... have they READ the Bible? Ever?

I guess I'm saying I'm glad that Camping came clean in at least admitting he was wrong and he won't make ridiculous predictions again... but yeah, it seems like an incomplete apology. Like he still doesn't truly "get it".

And refund their money with the same spirit as Zacchaeus (Luke 19:8 ).

Hard to believe anyone would really care what Harold would have to say...he has already proven what he is.
