Greetings all. I am a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and have been since 17th March (St-Patrick's Day) 1975. I make no claim to be perfect and do not expect to achieve perfection this side of the grave/eternity. I have had an eventful walk in the Christian Life and have attended numerous churches.
Here is a short testimony to give you a small amount of background about myself. I was brought up Presbyterian and went to what was a United Presbyterian Church (later PCUSA then something else) as I had no choice in the matter. I was sprinkled as an infant and obviously had no choice in the matter. Church attendance was compulsory as my parents made me go though I did not feel I was spiritually fed there. My parents pulled me out of the public school I was attending in the middle of Grade 6 and I attended Bethany Baptist Elementary School for the second semester of Grade 6 followed by Bethany Baptist Junior High School through Grade 9. When I was in Grade 7, age 13, on St-Patrick's Day 1975 Marie Hurt, my Maths teacher confronted me and scared me about Hell and led me to the Lord mainly using John 3:16. Some people say scaring people about Hell doesn't work or isn't effective but it worked with me! I went to Valley Christian High School Cerritos, California from Grades 10-12 and graduated from there in 1980. When in Grade 10 I acquired and read Hal Lindsey's book THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH as well as THERE IS A NEW WORLD COMING and a couple other books by Hal Lindsay as well as some other students of Bible Prophecy and I got intensely interested in the subject of Eschatology and became solidly Pre Tribulation/Pre Millennial in my eschatological views. As I progressed through High School my parents told me I still had to go to Church but they gave me more freedom as to where to attend. As a result for a time I attended Grace Brethren Church in Long Beach and sat under the teaching of David L. Hocking and heard verse by verse teaching going straight through books of the Bible. I definitely felt I was being spiritually fed a lot more there. Later I sat under the teaching of the late Howard C. Estep of World Prophetic Ministry which was in Colton, California. I heard the late Bob Jones Jr. and Bob Jones III speak at World Prophetic Ministry and was introduced to Fundamentalism. In March 1989 due to providential circumstances I met some open air street preachers and on 18th March 1989 I did open air street preaching for the first time at a Communist Rally in downtown Los Angeles. Later on I got my Commercial Driving Licence and became a truck driver by trade and I have attended numerous churches during my travels. I have been to or through all the lower 48 states and 9 out of 10 provinces in Canada and have visited churches in all the 48 states with the exceptions of Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as all of the Canadian provinces I've been in. Due to influence mainly from sources in Calgary and Ottawa I ended up becoming a five point Calvinist (though not hyper calvinist) and notwithstanding the fact that I am dispensational/pretrib/premil and use the KJV, in November 2015 I was unanimously voted into formal membership at Trinity Reformed Baptist Church La Mirada, California.
