I had a call from a long lost friend Sunday.  (Sunday is not his name)

My friend brought up the old Sword Conferences and the early days of the Fundamentalist Conferences. He asked me if I remember who the “original members” were & where they are today. I only remembered a few but I told him I know who would remember.

Please list any original Fundamentalist Steering Committee members you can remember & where they are today. Also list other speakers you remember.

Original member: Jack Hyles

Where he is today: Heaven

The interactions between her and Bro. Hyles were such a wonderful part of Pastors' School... Good times!

Ga 2:6  But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

Original members? I don't know. By the mid-nineties it consisted of:

Jack Hyles
Ray Young
Bob Gray
Tom Neal
Micheal Haynes
Dean Miller
John Vaperszan
Bill Burr

Received this email from a friend who reads the FFF but is not a member.

Please add to the list of FC steering committee the names Gary Knough, David Gibbs and Randy Taylor. I think that Dennis Corle might have been there at the start but I'm not sure. I was roommates at HAC with Wayne Cowling's son Scott, who filled me in on the committee's proceedings.

The idea for the conferences was Gary Knough. He was from Wyoming. The committee was large at first. But personalities led to several, Ouelette, Cowling, etc. dropping out. There was a really fine exchange between Neal and R.B. Ouelette.

Then Tom Neal used his paper to do a hatchet job on Randy Taylor. Taylor wanted to kick Neal off the Mt Salem board. Bro. Hyles asked why. It was then that Dr. Hyles said he never read Neal's Contender paper. Good times

I have come to the conclusion after watching all the mess of the Mike Zachary, Brad Boruff, etc. that anything is possible among Christians. That's sad but true.

The Fundamentalist Conference had their personality issues and the left overs became the Fresh Oil Conference. They had their personality issues and the remnant became The Campmeeting after all of that I just stopped caring about it lol.

Yes.  Gary (pronounced Kenuff )  started them.
I believe it was PS of '93 where Bro.Hyles introduced him, and the concept.
