He says the only God is divine but the word divine has five definitions. The word of God (Bible) proceeds from God and as such can be considered divine but it wouldn't be divine in the sense of having all the fullness of the godhead or divine nature - only Christ has that. Some fundamentalists worship the Bible but it's painting with a broad brush to say they all do.
1.
of or pertaining to a god, especially the Supreme Being.
2.
addressed, appropriated, or devoted to God or a god; religious; sacred: divine worship.
3.
proceeding from God or a god: divine laws.
4.
godlike; characteristic of or befitting a deity: divine magnanimity.
5.
heavenly; celestial: the divine kingdom.
I agree with him (Sanders) here
"Put the Bible in its place and then you will see its deep religious value. If you treat the Bible as a rulebook dropped out of heaven, you will miss the purpose for which the Bible was written in the first place."
He's right, the theme of the Bible is Christ from Genesis to Revelation.
