Are there...should there be...different rules or standards on the forum for pastors as opposed to the plain, old fashioned, run of the mill Posters here*?
Some have intimated so in the past...so....what about it?

*language used for effect.  :)

It is not that there should be different rules for pastors.  It is that the plain, old fashioned, run of the mil Posters are expected to follow/obey the rules.  ;) ;)

My mind immediately went to TRB and Marty  :P

They shouldn't have had to obey any different rules than anyone else on the forum but at the same time I found some of their comments and behavior towards others on the FFF amazing "for a pastor." The Bible raises the standard for pastors in the church. I tend to look at pastors as human as anyone else until the behavior is so out of bounds.  I'm not sure if that makes me a hypocrite or not.

No.

All Christians should post as Christ would.

Those that do not should not be upset when contrary
assumptions are made, .

I think you have a valid point.
The Bible does raise the standard for pastors because of their position of responsibility and leadership in the church.
I have felt the need to apologize more than a few times for my 'behavior' here.
I don't believe you to be hypocritical at all.

It's confusing when some 'put down' or seek to diminish the position of a pastor while at the same time holding them to a higher standard.

If one sets himself up as a king, he should act like a king and not a court jester. If he acts like a jester, he should not expect to receive the respect that a king is entitled to.

To garner respect, a king should require more in character of himself than those throughout the realm.

As a pastor, I basically come to the forum for an occasional laugh.  I don't have the time to spend much time here.  I hardly consider it part of my ministry.

Best thing I have gotten from the forum is exposure to the rational of those who I might sincerely disagree with.  Sometimes that rational has been legit, but mostly just entertaining.

I have tried to figure out those who I can have a little fun with, and those who are a bit thin skinned.  Probably have offended some, but never on intent.  My humor sometimes is a bit.....................(my wife would finish this for me if she was here -- she would say "over the top")..............and she would be right.

I am pretty much what I have been -- an old school IFBxer.  Unlike most, I have also learned to laugh about it.  :)

Oh............and apparently now I am also a king.    :o

Some would say, you guys are simply jesters.....but shame on you because you don't act like kings! Paul talked about that in his Epistle to the Gnosticapalians!  ;)

I think most people "get" you because your are so over the top. I get your waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more conservative than I on many things but I also get you play it up a lot for the yucks which I find pretty funny most of the time. As for the two I mentioned above they were serious in their craziness. :)
