The food stamp program, part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps in history.
Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "please do not feed the animals because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves."

In point of fact: the Park Service *will* feed animals in certain circumstances. For example, bison are fed in cases of extreme winter conditions.
Are you suggesting that humans should treat each other like animals?

There may be a level on which Sen. Session's comment makes sense. Personally, I don't think the program is immoral, but I do think it has problems and unintended consequences... as programs generally do.

Another illustration of the immorality of some government social programs:
In 1965 when the Democratic war on poverty was launched, the illegitimacy birth rate in the Black community was 19%....today it is over 70%. The government became the defacto father and provider for the poor in this country....and destroyed the family structure......condemning them to perpetual poverty!
