A man was reached with the gospel going door to door soul winning on Wednesday, he brought his son to church on Thursday night and he got saved. He brought his daughter to church Friday and she got saved. They were all there this morning!

He had a Jehovahs Witness show up at his door on Saturday. He said, I don't need what you have...I have the truth! Glory to God!!

The gospel works in any language, in any country and for any soul!!!

Wonderful story, but that method is not commanded in the Bible, and it certainly is not the most effective method in today's culture.

Thanks for the good report bro.

I love stories like this.  Thanks for sharing.

awesome; second good report I've heard today and it warms the heart on a cold, rainy, tired Monday

I assume this thread is a response to the former thread on the same topic.
I praise The Lord for the good reports!

Just so I understand the issue or non issue :), here would you answer my question:
If a church has multiple outreach/soul winning ministries and is 'reaching people'...are they un-Biblical if the don't have a door to door outreach ministry?

My answer is: If they're doing stuff that works, they're doing it right. And "works" means people who stay Christians, not who just say the words.

We don't do door to door at our church...about a year ago we had to go two services because we were full to capacity. We are now having the same problem in our second service. Jam packed, hearing the Gospel!

I simply believe that door to door visitation allows you to fulfill the Great Commission. It is a method, one that is effective, and that can not be ignored if you are truly reaching every creature. You can meet & witness many more people out door to door visitation than you can ever do simply witnessing to those you interact in every day life.

I am, however, thankful for ANYONE who is leading people to the Saviour.

Do you think that it's the best Biblical model to have people hear the gospel in the ekklesia, or does the Bible portray evangelism as occuring in our communities and then bringing converts into the corporate worship of Christ's body?

The debate is already on another thread.  I believe this one is for rejoicing in the testimony of leading another to Christ.

Recently, a lady I work with was talking about changing her schedule so she could go to church on Sunday.  I asked if she had a church in mind.  She told me about a young man that came by her place and invited her to church, gave her a tract (she called it a paper) and she thought of going there.  I asked more about it and she pulled it out of her purse.  The fellow had written his number on it in case she ever needed anything, so she had had it tucked away in her purse for 2 years in case she ever needed to get in touch with someone at church!  It was from another church in town I would not attend because of some differences, but they do give the Gospel.  I asked her about salvation.  She was searching, but hadn't found an answer.  I asked her to open up the flyer and read the inside.  She never knew it had an inside - she had just tucked it away!  About 20 minutes later, she prayed a prayer of repentance and faith in Christ for eternity.  She now goes to church with her kids whenever she has off work on Sunday.

Praise the Lord.

Sometimes Door-to-Door is planting seed.
