Food police reject preschooler's homemade lunch... in favour of chicken nuggets

A preschool girl was told her homemade meal wasn't healthy enough so a school cafeteria monitor made her eat chicken nuggets instead.

What could be less healthy than chicken nuggets? A turkey and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread with a side of a banana, potato chips, and apple juice.

I started home schooling in 1985 and continued until 2007 when we put a couple of kids in a Christian school.  I have seen the types of people who home school grow from a small variety to a large spectrum.

Ahhhh, but according to at least one legislator in Michigan, parents don't know best...

"SQUIRES:  You know, educators go through education for a reason.  They are the people who know best about how to serve children. That's not necessarily true of an individual resident.  I'm not saying they don't want the best for their children, but they may not know what actually is best from an education standpoint.

MICHIGAN REPRESENTATIVE:  Wow, parents don't know what's best for their child?

SQUIRES:  I said they may want what's best for their child.  They may not know."

You can read the entire article here...

The arrogance of some "public" officials is astounding.
