Why is there a lack of good posts or threads?

Seriously.

I have just a few minutes before my class starts to read and I am just not thrilled with the content.

I'm trying very hard to get involved. At the request of an old friend I came here and promised I would give it a try.

I consider myself passive, so starting threads really isn't my forte.

Maybe this one will generate some interest.

Sorry, not interested.

They're being crowded out by the 19-post whining wonders.

Lorainne, Honey, I am saddened to hear that you aren't thrilled with the content of the posts.  Please listen to speeches by President Obama.  I've heard that he caused a thrill going up the leg of Chris Matthews.  You may be so lucky.

I'll post a Steeler thread to help you out!

I am sorry that the quality of our forum does not meet with your approval.

My dad always said there are two types of people in this world; those who complain but do nothing and those who complain but then do something about it.

I know you said that starting threads isn't your forte, but if you don't like the quality of threads, then start some quality threads of your own. It's kind of like "Field of Dreams," but in this case it would be 'post it and they will come.'

But then again it looks like you got your wish; it looks like this thread has garnered the interest you desire.

Oh well, to each their own, I suppose.

i think there is a good mix of threads on this forum. yeah, there are some "silly" threads, but for the most part they seem to be pretty good.

perhaps this style of forum isn't a good "fit" for you? just a thought.

Initially I came here to see if I could find an old friend.

I was scolded by the admin. for asking.

Now it seems he/she has me in his/her sites.

Maybe I should have asked for anyone from Minnesota.

I don't understand the sarcasm, really.

And, as  for me looking for a guy from Minn., I have endured great hurt from a forum like this regarding him.

Real people have been hurt.

Please understand.

1)  We don't know you personally
2)  You don't know any of us personally
3)  For some reason, many people use the internet as a way to "share their hurt" with totally anonymous people who may or may not be who/what they say they are.
4)  Seek help from people you actually know.
5)  This is the internet, not real life.

Please understand.

You mean people actually misrepresent themselves, put up facades, and are generally unable to be sensitive to the hurts of others?  I am so confused. :o

Way too many well-meaning people have been burned by being "sensitive to the hurts of others" on the internet.  I am and will remain skeptical of any anonymous internet personality.

Being anonymous myself, I would hope that others would feel the same about me. There is a difference between me and some other anonymous internet personalities though....I don't feel the need to share my personal life or its problems and pains with anyone I don't personally know on the internet.  IMO, that's just plain stupid.

Well, you don't know my story.

My life WAS altered because of REAL people on a REAL forum just like this.

If you believe the internet isn't a part of real life, you are mistaken.

That's generally my thinking. I don't use my real name anywhere on the internet, except for course for shopping. But I am the same consistent Izdaari persona at nearly all times at nearly all message boards. No need for "socks" here. If I can't say it as Izdaari, it isn't something I care to say.

That doesn't mean other anonymous forum people aren't real to me. I may not know their real life names or faces, and I don't expect to because I don't share mine either, but I still form real relationships with them and care about them.

If the internet caused/is causing you problems, you should stay away from it to avoid further problems.
