The Chairman of the Board of Deacons at FBC Hammond wants to know.

It seems to me though that someone would have come forward - there's a Facebook page of ex-congregants who would gladly come forward and say something.

To me Schaap is much more bad talk than bad action. He was probably a long time adulterer in his heart and he finally acted it out. This is why renewing your mind/walking in the Spirit and meditating on God's law (especially the moral law) is something one has to do daily and nightly. It's the difference between why David sinned and why Joseph did not.

Eddie Lapina, Interim Pastor, has worked extensively with the youth ministry and said he never saw any evidence of inappropriate conduct, according to CBS Chicago.

Yet, he warned that Schapp "has suffered greatly thus far, and if there...have been criminal acts, then the law will take that into account as well."

What?  They're going to take HIS SUFFERING  into account?  What in the world does that mean?

Question for law experts.

Please see Sec. 12-13 at this link.

Could Schaap be charged with Criminal Sexual Assault based on the fact that Schaap was in a position of trust, authority or supervision in relation to the victim whether she consented or not
or would the girl have to press charges? I read of a case in Illinois involving a teacher and student in which the student was 18 but the teacher was charged and found guilty because the student was in high school.

He could be charged with the possession of child porn on his phone even if the girl consented to the act.
