Sadly, David Jorgensen got his record expunged and now it appears he has a job at First Baptist Church Hammond (Hyles Publications).

From the news article:

http://www.chicoer.com/ci_20143812/warrant-issued-former-chico-church-staff-member-child?source=rss_viewed

"Jorgensen pleaded no contest in May 2003 to two felony counts of committing lewd acts upon a child, according to online court records. After he completed probation, he sought to have the crimes reduced to misdemeanors and had his record expunged in September 2006."

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (Pastor Tim Ruhl) will soon be in court defending itself against charges of negligence in the way they handled the Dave Jorgensen situation.

Why would a church even look at this guy and take a chance.  Forgiveness (if genuinely sought) is biblical...foolishness is not!

Check out the attitude of denial that makes such stupid decisions possible:

From a fff poster named DEF:

"Ichabod his son is a dear friend of mine. Im not going to tell you not to say anything but I wish you had some self respect and wouldnt say that. I know why you made that comment, you obviously want people to ask so you can start up a gossip colum with you and the others. But I will say this, his younger son has not sinned any worse than you by making that comment. Anything you wish to reveal only shows your own insecurity as a person. I know people will ask but c'mon Ich you say you are a christian then you make comments as such. I dont know, I guess you are, but thats between God and you. But as a person you are no better than the homeless bum who chooses to rape a little girl. What happened to His son can happen to you. It may have already. You may not be casting stones at him, but you are definatley gathering the crowd."

Unstinkingbelievable!!!

Ug, of course he does.

I will try to follow the upcoming trial and see what info comes out.  Expunging his record does not change the facts.

We will also find out how Tim Ruhl handled this situation.

Bet I will see the name "Gibbs" before this is over (naturally!)

Because they think they are immune.

It's things like this that make me wish America's Most Wanted wasn't cancelled - sorry but most people don't read news articles, it has to be on TV these days. I won't be surprised if it takes a week or more before this guy gets caught. It should be foremost in the police's mind - if there is a warrant out for a former IFB pastor's arrest - check the FBBC Hammond website or contact the church (in person) - there doesn't seem to be a link to Hyles Publications on the church website.

Wow, I can't believe this guy has a Twitter account - Does he not know there is a warrant. If he knew and he was smart he'd close his account - not that I'd want him to - just saying.

I am not quite following this. First it says he served his probation and had his record expunged but now you are talking about a warrant. Please explain. I know Dave fairly well.

You are mixing up David Jorgensen with Jesse Ruhl.

Jesse Ruhl is the one with the current arrest warrant from Chico, CA. The alleged crime occurred at his father, Tim Ruhl's, church - Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. His whereabouts are unknown. His last known address was in Banning, CA where he worked for Mountain Ave. Baptist. He graduated from West Coast Baptist College and his wife's father is on staff at WCBC so he could be hiding out in Lancaster for all I know.

David Jorgensen also worked for Tim Ruhl at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He pled no contest to charges of abuse of a minor and was given probation. After serving probation he was able to find an attorney* who got the charges knocked down to misdemeanors and then had his criminal record expunged. Somewhere along the way he ended up at FBCH as VP of Hyles Publications.

* Wonders who the attorney was - has suspician

Reposting the quote about Jorgensen from the news article, for clarification:

"Jorgensen pleaded no contest in May 2003 to two felony counts of committing lewd acts upon a child, according to online court records. After he completed probation, he sought to have the crimes reduced to misdemeanors and had his record expunged in September 2006."
