Conservatives, if you could choose between lowering taxes for the top 1% or cutting Social Security benefits for the elderly, what would you choose?

Preemptive strike: I'm not a liberal (or a conservative).

C - None of the above
D - All of the above
E - Other factors would influence my answer.

I choose E.

Kinda like asking..."Have you stopped beating your wife?" :o

There are a whole host of places the government can cut spending.  It would be nice if we had a balanced budget.  Obviously there will need to be cuts to many entitilement programs if we are to get to a place where we reduce the actual deficit.

If all the super rich liberals were interested in giving more money to the government they would not take any of the tax breaks offered to them, but that is not the case.

One percent cut in overall government spending is three times of what any tax increase or SS cut amounts too.

Freezing current appropriations to their current level would also slow government spending. Most appropriations include COLA's and increases in the bills expenses.

Easy. I would lower taxes on the top 1%.

But I'm not a liberal (or a conservative).

I would also lower taxes on the top one percent....but I am a conservative!
I think he might have meant raise taxes on the top one percent.....typos happen!

I would lower taxes on the top 1%... and on everybody else too!  ;D

And I'd cut spending even more, but not SS benefits if it could possibly be avoided.
