Hello saints, just wanted to ask you all this: what have been some of the common misconceptions of Scripture that you have grown to learn and become accustomed with although you now know that it is not Scriptural.

I'll start off with these two:

"Pleading the blood" is a common Scripture misconception. This phrase is not found anywhere in the Scriptures.

And the second one is this phrase: "that is a lie straight from the pit of Hell." Is another common misconception of Scripture. If you read the account of the rich man and Lazarus. And also as the rich man in Hell is communicating with Abraham, there is not one time where the rich man ever lies. Everything that rich man said was true. So, there are no lies in Hell.

Hence, a biblically correct statement would be: "that is a lie straight from the devil(Satan) himself."

"The King James Bible alone is God's perfectly preserved Word for English-speaking peoples."

"If you don't understand the Bible dispensationally, you'll make a wreck of your Bible study."

Do unto others before they do unto you!  ;)

Well Scott; the King James Bible is the perfect, preserved and inerrant word of God. But there are also reliable translations out there which are not translated from the corrupt Vaticanus and Siniaticus.

Also English Bibkes like Coverdale, Bishop's Bible, Geneva Bible, Tyndale's New Testament were all reliable English translations. But the King James Bible is perfect and infallible. It is the Absolute Final Authority in all matters of Faith and Practice.

And the second one is true also, you have to be dispensationally in your Bible Study and in your approach to the Scriptures. A good example of this Scott, would be that the Doctrine of the Pre-Trib Rapture and the Doctrine of Eternal Security go hand in hand. Both are Biblical Doctrines.

"Common Scripture Misconceptions"

No you don't.

No, they don't.
Both are Biblical Doctrines.
Actually, the first one is a creative interpretation that's only about 180 years old.

You miss Scotts point and you even miss your own point of this thread.  This thread is not about what you believe to be right, but common Scripture misconceptions.  That being the case Scott is correct because the Scripture does not say those things and you are incorrect by your own standards.

Your own thread is about "common scripture misconceptions." King James onlyism doesn't come from the Scriptures, therefore it is not a scriptural conception.  Or maybe I'm just supposed to just take your word for it?

And the second one is true also, you have to be dispensationally in your Bible Study and in your approach to the Scriptures. A good example of this Scott, would be that the Doctrine of the Pre-Trib Rapture and the Doctrine of Eternal Security go hand in hand. Both are Biblical Doctrines.

The Rapture is only "Biblical Doctrine" if you accept beforehand that "you have to be dispensationally [sic] in your Bible Study." As for eternal security, I can argue for it without assuming dispensationalism or the Rapture.

Do you know what "circular reasoning" is?

Whether one likes them or not, these "phrases" are figures of speech. I've never heard anyone claim these phrases were found in the Bible {except for you}. Methinketh you have misconceptions.
