I saw this picture posted today. I can understand the frustration but I don't see how that is going to get whoever stole their stuff to become repentant enough to want to accept Christ?
Thoughts?
Oh, that is simply awful. We simply must not make people feel badly about their sin or its possible consequences...

At first I thought you were being sarcastic but now I am not sure. Of course we are to preach about sin and its consequences but that is not what this is. This is a bad way to show displeasure for something evil that has happened to you. What did Jesus do when the Roman Soldiers beat him and crucified him? Did he tell them where they were headed? No he said, Father forgive me for they know not what they do.
If the church here wanted a chance to win the lost it may have been more appropriate to say something like. To those who stole our AC units if you need help please just ask we will help you. Or maybe To the people who stole our AC units I pray they work as good for you as they did for us.
Heaping coals of fire upon their head and turning the other cheek. People would see that the church has something different that they want. Instead they see a group of cry babies and hateful people.
And we wonder why our churches are being on watch list as hate groups
