I saw this picture posted today. I can understand the frustration but I don't see how that is going to get whoever stole their stuff to become repentant enough to want to accept Christ?

Thoughts?

lol!! I thought for a moment it was the sign at Windsor Hills.  But then that is mellow for them.

All it would do is make me not go anywhere near that church as a Christian or as a non-Christian the same.

Oh, that is simply awful. We simply must not make people feel badly about their sin or its possible consequences...

How did Christ respond to wrongful actions against him? How did Christians in the book of Acts respond to wrongful actions when they were filled with the Holy Ghost?

In our church we wouldn't respond in the manner that this church did - instead we would pray for whoever stole the said thing. We've had things stolen from us.

So, the whole community now understands that this church believes themselves to be the decider of people's destiny.  I guess they believe in a works based salvation?

At first I thought you were being sarcastic but now I am not sure. Of course we are to preach about sin and its consequences but that is not what this is. This is a bad way to show displeasure for something evil that has happened to you. What did Jesus do when the Roman Soldiers beat him and crucified him? Did he tell them where they were headed? No he said, Father forgive me for they know not what they do.

If the church here wanted a chance to win the lost it may have been more appropriate to say something like. To those who stole our AC units if you need help please just ask we will help you. Or maybe To the people who stole our AC units I pray they work as good for you as they did for us.

Heaping coals of fire upon their head and turning the other cheek. People would see that the church has something different that they want. Instead they see a group of cry babies and hateful people.

And we wonder why our churches are being on watch list as hate groups

I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously.  Relax and laugh.

Church Sign Paraphrased:

Go to hell!

So much for "turn the other cheek" or "give him thy cloak also."  I guess true colors do show through!

Is the pastor Jeff Fugate?  (I think that is the name on the sign) The Jeff Fugate that many wanted to take over First Baptist?

You are really being petty if you have to find something wrong with the sign. Can't they make light of the situation?

If you really want to know what kind of spirit it was placed there with, why not call Pastor Jeff Fugate and asked him?

Umm, I would never see it as okay to "make light"  of a human soul's damnation.

Nope, not petty.  When you've come from of a ministry where the pastor with joy uses the church sign to berate, antagonize and infuriate the surrounding community looking to get a rise at every opportunity you think as I do about that sign.

It just ain't Christ like.

They are making light of the fact their A/C units were stolen. Jeff Fugate is actually great guy and I am sure Patriotic would gree.

He may be a great guy but we will have to disagree on the making light of the situation.  I do not believe he is.

I agree he is a great guy. I have heard him preach a few times too but it is not funny when someone dies and goes to Hell. And "making light" of the fact the AC unit was stolen could have been done differently as suggested in some earlier post. I felt that the sign was "making light" more of the fact that the person was going to Hell than that they had their AC stolen.

Jeff may or may not be a great guy.  The sign that this MOG allowed on his church mocked others perishing in hell while he loftily enjoys eternity.  It really wreaks of bitterness, pride and anger.  How great of a pastor is that?

Not trying to offend anyone here. But it just seems now a days, people are just out to criticize every little thing. Jeff Fugate's church has proven that they care about lost souls, they have a thriving bus ministry, Christian school, college, VBS, soul winning. Again they were making light of their A/C being stolen NOT someone going to Hell.

Often times church signs are some catchy phrase to catch someones attention. Guess this one caught yours.
