Chick fil A banned in Boston!

Fast food is fast food. I'd eat there for the chicken, not for some guy's political or religious opinions.

Shall we ban Ben & Jerry's because its founders support a variety of left-wing causes? No, because that's trumped by them having the best ice cream, and it's about the ice cream, not about what opinions B & J have.

From the story

"Mayor Thomas Menino told the Boston Herald (Mayor Menino on Chick-fil-A: Stuff it - BostonHerald.com ) on Thursday that he doesn't want a business in the city 'that discriminates against a population.'"

Yet the honorable mayor will discriminate against the entire Boston population of chicken lovers who disagrees with him. Whatever.

If it wasn't clear enough, I disagree with the mayor. And I'm not sure on what legal grounds he thinks he can ban a business because of a principal's political/religious opinions. If he could show that they actually practiced discrimination, that'd be a different matter.

Izzy, sorry if you thought my comment was directed at you, it was not. It was just my thought concerning the original story that just happened to come after your post. Cheers.

CFL won't lose much business over this.  They probably don't have many restaurants there anyway.  Some people probably will lose their job though.

That's stupid. How is Chik-Fil-A "discriminating" against anyone? I didn't realize that officiating marriages was part of their service. Or do they refuse to serve gay-married couples? No?

Liberalism is a mental illness.
