Here is a lengthy quote from Jack Hyles book Enemies of Soul Winning pages 46-47 which is still being sold by Hyles Publications.

IMHO this is heresy of the highest order.

"The words of God are the genes of regeneration. Titus 3:5, 'Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.' Actually the word 'regeneration' means 'to be re-gened.' Just as the genes of my parents brought my old nature into existence, even so the genes of God brought my new nature into existence. Your old nature is sinful because there was sin in the genes, but the genes of the Word of God are incorruptible, meaning that which is born of God; that is, the new nature, cannot sin. Now if the very words of God must be pure, and if in fact the King James Bible contains the preserved words of God, then any other words are not the words of God. ... we must have the incorruptible seed in order to be re-gened, or regenerated, or born again. Suppose corruptible seed is used. Can a person then be born again from it? You answer that question. According to I Peter 1:23 we read, 'Being born again, not of corruptible seed ...' Then , if corruptible seed is used, one cannot be born again. I have a conviction as deep as my soul that every English-speaking person who has ever been born again was born of incorruptible seed; that is, the King James Bible. Does that mean that if someone goes soul winning and takes a false Bible that the person who receives Christ is not saved? I believe with all of my soul that the incorruptible seed must have been used somewhere in that person's life. If all a person has ever read is the Revised Standard Version, he cannot be born again, because corruptible seed is used, and I Peter 1:23 is very plain to tell us that a person cannot be born again of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed, and it explains that that incorruptible seed is the Word of God, and it explains that it liveth and abideth forever. ..."

What is your opinion?

Wally Beebe also espoused this position.  Allen Domelle still does today, and probably others.  IMO, it is one of the ignorant, heretical "positions" to hold that has absolutely no standing in Scripture or anywhere except in the minds of those who think they are smarter than God.

It bothered me a little, but for some reason I felt that even he did not believe it.  I remember on many occasions that he said the Romans road is one way on a map with many routes to the same destination, and that salvation happens when a believer makes the decision to come forward at an invitation, not when he is at the front of the aisle....  It just seemed that it was to easy to disprove the philosophy since it damns all before 1611 to hell.

I was pleased when he walked back the position and admitted that the KJV did not have to be used for salvation.

Old news.  He said it.  He put it in print.  It was crazy.  He later admitted that he no longer agreed with it.

Bro. Blackwell taught this when I was in college in the 2000.  He spent several days proving his position in "Preacher's Power Hour."  I turned in a paper one time where I stated that "corruptible seed" is not referring to a bible version, but it is the seed my daddy gave to my mommy that produced me.

To be truthful, incorruptible seed is not referring to the Bible either.  It is speaking of being born again through the Holy Spirit.  The phrase, "by the word of God..." is not speaking of the incorruptible seed, but the method that allows incorruptible seed to reach me.

What do you do with James 1:18?

James 1:18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

I fully agree that the corruptible/incorruptible seed is not the versions.  But with James 1:18 and Romans 10:17, there seems to be Biblical correspondence that the Word of God is involved in the birthing process of a Christian.
