Bill Maher - A Canadian who attended Bob Jones?

Bill Maher is American, not Canadian. Ok, I know he sounds un-American sometimes, but he was born in NYC and raised in NJ.

He didn't go to BJU, although that article sort of sounds like he did. He graduated from Cornell U., class of 1978.

Are you sure?  Have you seen his birth certificate? :D

No, I'm not sure. I used Wikipedia as my source.  :P

But I'm not going to be voting for him even if he runs for something. His odd blend of progressive and libertarian politics and his dismissive attitude toward Christianity is a combo that doesn't work for me. I usually enjoy his sense of humor, but wouldn't say he's very compatible with my views on most issues.

No Bill Maher is not a Canadian, thank goodness. I would hate to claim him as one of ours.

Thanks for the clarification.
But with LU being castigated here recently by the coalition of Bo Joers and Ransom....and Maher following in their footsteps...I just assumed he was one or the other....or a Canadian Bo Joer!

:D

On the other hand, I'm sure Maher and Canada share the same philosophy on abortion.

Your man-crush on all things Falwell is preempting lucidity.

If I knew what lucidity meant, I might be offended.  :)

A degree makes one a "champion for Christ"?

Well, it's handy that you don't have to go all the way to Houston anymore to find a theologically spineless institution to help "discover the champion in you."

For an institution as lame as you describe, at least you wouldn't have to leave Canada.

Compared with the People's Republic of Obamaland, why would I want to leave Canada?

Because it's above freezing more than one month a year?  :D
