Beer and Ben Franklin

I've read that Ben Franklin never really said this, although it is almost certain he loved beer.  Regardless of who first said it, it's a good quote, although with the caveat that I'm mighty particular about beer.  Grocery store beer won't do 99% of the time.  It has to be fresh.

I've been drinking Pyramid Wheaten IPA. I bought it because it was on sale, though I was a little dubious about the idea of a wheaten IPA. It turns out that it's quite good though.  8)

Franklin did write, "Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, there it enters the roots of the vines, to be changed into wine, a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy." So it was about wine. I can only handle Reisling or Gewurztraminer so I much prefer Franklins quote to be about beer.

yep.  27% alcohol.  But, you have to understand, the chugging was in my primary years.  We never understood why we enjoyed church so much after throwing back a tall bottle purchased in the church bookstore before the service! ;D

There is also humor in the name.  At HAC, I never drank the kool-aid, but I did chug the Binaca!   (Get it?  It's a joke!)  Us HACkers have a certain odd, twisty humor.

I would do AA if I were an alcoholic. But I'm not. I drink in moderation, and have been able to do so consistently all my adult life (I'm 58, so I think the parttern is pretty well established).
