I did not know Spurgeon believed in Baptist perpetuity.
What do the members of the FFF believe about it?

Technically, Protestantism sprang from within the Roman Catholic Church. The Baptists were never part of that institution. I believe the argument is that there has always been a remnant of believers who believed salvation was by faith alone and that “Baptists” (their doctrines) through different names have always existed throughout church history. Even the Sword of the Lord organization published the book The Trail of Blood which teaches this.

Some make a distinction between Baptists who don't wish to be associated with the “Baptist Briders” who believe only in the local church and only Baptists are the bride of Christ while the Protestant denominations are “friends of the Bridegroom.” I’m not a Baptist Brider. Its hard to distinguish between a lot of these groups.

Baptists were part of the Radical Reformation in England, being dissenters from the established church and the magisterial Reformers. They are second-generation Protestants.

Spurgeon didn't often get it wrong, but he got this wrong.
