This article supposedly clarifies the military's rules, but it really is dependent upon who is above you in the chain of command.
When I was in the USAF, I could carry my Bible to work, read it on break and if someone asked me about it, I could witness to them.FreeToBeMe said:The gist of it is, they don't want soldiers doing any "soul winning" at work. That hasn't been allowed for a long time. There is no prohibition with telling fellow soldiers you're a Christian. Some of these things you're hearing about are just a bunch of Chicken Little's running around trying to scare people.
Overseas, General Order 1 applies. You cannot evangelize or go "soul winning" to the natives in foreign countries you're deployed in. Again, that's nothing new.
Don't let ignorant people tell you it is.
