...............

I can't answer right now.  I need help.  I'm being held captive by Hello Kitty.  She's got a bubble gun and loaded Pop Tart, and I don't think she's afraid to use them!!

(For those living under a rock... a 7 yr old student was suspended for biting his pop tart into the shape of a gun...

http://foxbaltimore.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/first-fox-student-suspended-pop-tart-gun-prompts-new-legislation-18311.shtml?wap=0

And a 5 yr old girl was suspended for threatening to use a Hello Kitty bubble gun.

In other words, liberalism (which is responsible for banning large sodas and suspending kids for having pop tarts) is truly a mental disorder.

Link's up now. It's from the WSJ:

Wall Street Journal said:
A state judge on Monday stopped Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration from banning New York City restaurants and other venues from selling large sugary drinks, a major defeat for the mayor who has made public a health initiatives a cornerstone of his tenure at City Hall.

Ha ha!

I'll bet Bloomin' Idiot can kiss his proposed ban on loud earphones bye-bye, too.

what do you think about the ban on large sugary drinks in new york city?... ... having been inspired by new york nannymayor bloombergs success in getting that passed the governor, wannabe nanny, here is pushing lawmakers to consider the same thing plus an excise tax on all sugary drinks similar to the tax on alcohol and tobacco products.. .. it may sound silly to draw a battle line over something like sugary drinks..  but shouldn;t there come a time when voters and tax payers say enough is enough.. and tell their governors and mayors to stop it with all the nonsense?. ..  obsessing over soda pop is not what we are paying you to do?....

i changed my eating habits a few years ago and began making healthier choices regarding food and beverages....  it;s been a really long time since i went into a mcdonalds and ordered a super sized anything... ...  but all this talk about bans and taxes makes me want to go out and get a supersize big gulp dr pepper right now... and not the diet one either.. . and drink it right in front of the governor....  >:( ...

What's next?

probably taxing luxuries like eating poor poke Tacos and putting parking meters in holes for people who insist on standing there while armed with surf boards.

I think it is a good idea for a person to decide to stop drinking those.\

However, in the land of the free, it is none of Mayor Bloomberg's business.  Next? It will be something like "No red meat portions over 6 oz. in restaurants."

I read the article on mummy heart disease, too.  What I found particularly interesting is the fact that the mummies with heart disease were older than the mummies without, by a significant 10 years.  Now, I realize that only a small sampling was made, but I would imagine this article did not come as good news to pharmaceutical companies.

Pretty much agree with the sentiments expressed by most so far.  Our liberties are being eroded by nutbags like Bloomberg.  I said as much in a thread not long ago as it related to our loss of eligious liberties.  The principle which Mr Bloomberg used for his ban was that he wanted to get tough and be proactive to curb obesity.  I wonder if it occurred to him how much misery and pain has been perpetrated by the abuse of alcohol?  But we haven't seen him talk about banning the number of cases of beers or pints of whiskey a New Yorker might be allowed to purchase now have we?  Gotta live the consistency.

Who would have thought that movie would become reality?
