This is the Grand Canyon. It was absolutely amazing. Someone once said, "No one walks to the edge of the Grand Canyon and says 'what a great person I am.'" We say "God is awesome."
Never been to the GC, but we’re planning a trip there for next summer. That’s the goal anyway. Hoping the following summer to see the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Probably somewhere in CA.
Paging the 80s
It's been years since we've been to the land of fruits nuts and flakes... But if you want to see nice beaches and not huge crowds, I highly recommend Ventura, about an hour north of LA. Santa Barbara county is nice too. Then there's a hidden gem just past Pismo Beach called Avila Beach.
The dive up Pacific Coast Highway (US 1) is worth your while... Big Sur is awesome. IF (big if) there is any sanity left in California, that is where you'll likely find it.

Our plan is probably a lot different than the average person visiting CA. We’re planning to stay in Palm Springs. My wife got to visit there on a very brief business trip a few years ago but didn’t have the time to explore, so we’re going to go visit and just explore this time. The closest beach is Oceanside, so we’ll probably rent a car and make the two hour drive there and spend one day, but otherwise we plan to just do stuff out in the area.It's been years since we've been to the land of fruits nuts and flakes...
