I thought this might be an interesting topic for folks to share what shows (Netflix/Prime/Hulu/etc.) or YouTube channels they enjoy watching. Maybe we’ll get some ideas from one another. I’m not a huge TV guy, but there are a few options out there that I’ll binge on. I’ll start….

Dangerous Roads (on Prime). This show is about ten years old and only consists of about nine or so episodes (1 hr each). I have found it to be very enjoyable viewing, although it’s evident there’s a lot of scripting involved.

We have Peacock....so far we just haven't felt like spending more and more money like we did on cable

It's absolutely absurd to pay all the money for "premium" programming and still have to watch commercials.

I recently completed watching the entire Cheers series on Paramount+. I didn't really binge it - mostly just 1 or 2 episodes in the evenings.

Sometimes I'd like to do that with WKRP in Cincinnati and Taxi.

They just don't write like that anymore...

I understand. We got rid of cable/satellite years ago because of the ridiculous cost. We only have basic TV and then we pay for Netflix/Prime/Disney. I still have a kid at home and also younger nieces/nephews who occasionally visit, so we keep a little TV available, otherwise I might just stick with basic antenna TV.

That show is on my to-do list. I can recall my dad watching it when I was a kid. I’ve only seen a couple of episodes as an adult. The theme song is iconic.

NBC ruled sitcoms back then. I was in high school & college when Cheers ran. Cheers & Night Court were 2 I always watched with my dad.

"Suits" was a pretty good series that I sort of "Binged" through.

I also went through all of the NCIS episodes that Netflix has up.

"Forged in Fire" is another good one. I always root either for the older guy, the one who served in the Navy, or the one from Texas!

I had some friends recommend that show because they thought I’d be able to identify, but for some reason, it just didn’t do it for me. Maybe it was just having to look at Meghan Markle that did it 🫣

Night Court was another classic.

I think I could binge watch Mythbusters. I liked the British version of Top Gear too. Another one I liked (shows what a nerd I am 🤓) was Highway Through Hell. Who would have thought a "reality" series could be made with a bunch of Canadian tow truck operators, but I ate that stuff up!

IMO, I’ve never found any TV shows I like more than the old stuff that predates my life: The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, etc. Seinfeld and The Office would be the closest to shows I’ve enjoyed as much as the classics.

Me and ALAYWIFE have the guilty pleasure of watching true crime whodunnits, and using the streaming service HULU allows us a variety of ways of watching those kinds of shows, but we often just mark them as a favorite and watch them whenever time permits. That usually doesn't come in the way of "binging" though. The last time we did sit down and watch three or more episodes of something was the History Channel show "The Food that Built America". When we first got the ability to stream in our tiny little rural holler, which was a REALLY BIG deal technologically speaking, we did tend to tiny-binge watch a True Crime show with Joe Kenda called Homicide Hunter, but that has stopped production and we no longer consume that sort of content other than an occasional Dateline.

Two. The Crown (netflix) and Victoria (Prime Video)

Victoria get boring in about season 3, but the Crown is great all the way through.

I do not have a television and so therefore, I don't watch normal programming.

However, YouTube is another matter. I enjoy watching musical performances almost daily as well as documentaries and things like that. As far as movies go, while I'm a Prime Video member, I rarely watch it but I do watch the Hallmark channel regularly. Yes, I'm a nerd. But I can't stand vulgarity and violence and crime (when in real life we have too much already).

I think maybe we've paid for Netflix but I don't ever look at it. Usually, for me, it's YouTube and music and also, "Homeworthy".
